Md. Shawquat Ali Khan has been working as a scientist at the Bangladesh Agricultural Research since 1997 and is currently a senior scientific officer of communication. He is responsible for organizing seminars, workshops and exhibitions on agricultural ideas to exchange knowledge among scientists. He also provides farmer training to disseminate the developed technologies of the institute.

Born in Bangladesh in 1968, Shawquat earned his PhD in Agronomy from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University in 2013. He has more than 20 years’ research experience in the fields of weed management, salinity and water stress in crops.

Shawquat applied to the Alliance for Science Global Leadership Fellows Program to receive training in developing communication leadership in order to effectively transfer technology and knowledge, something he plans to apply to his present job.
