Ana Maria Reynoso
Ms. Ana Maria Reynoso is an advocate of communication for agricultural and social development. She is a coordinator for visitors and events at the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) which gives her the unique opportunity to introduce IRRI’s mission to visitors and engage with various stakeholders of the Institute. In pursuit of a Master of Science degree in Development Communication with a minor in Business Management from the University of the Philippines Los Baños, she is writing her thesis on consumer perception of genetically modified rice. Her study aims to develop appropriate communication strategies in the midst of barriers to the adoption of biotech crops by target consumers, with special attention on gender sensitive issues.
Ana Maria served as a volunteer student broadcaster for the premiere college radio in the Philippines, LBFM 97.4, for three years until she obtained her BS in agriculture from the same university in 2011. She has experience working for both private and non-government agricultural organizations in her country. She is passionate on matters relating to science communication, agricultural development, biotechnology, gender sensitivity, public speaking, and broadcast communication.
